The Skykomish Masonic Temple houses the local food bank. The building is used for community meetings, for Rail safety meetings for BNSF, as a staging area for Puget Sound Energy during storms and related outages. The building has its own generator and is open to the public in times of emergency as a warming shelter and emergency housing.
The location of the lodge, and the community, as the last vestiges of civilization before Steven’s Pass, and ultimately Leavenworth, along US Highway 2, when traveling East, makes it an ideal spot to house these needs for the community.
